24 VAC training safety compared with 220 VAC mains

Why 24 VAC for Training?

Risks reduced compared with 220 VAC training

Higher electric-shock risk, involuntary muscle contraction, burns and arc hazards, equipment-damage risk and increased danger for beginners are associated with direct mains-voltage training.

Advantages of the 24 VAC system

Lower electric-shock risk, safer hands-on practice, better suitability for schools and training centres, easier instructor supervision and compatibility with realistic training devices.

Important safety note: 24 VAC is safer than 220 VAC, but it is not zero-risk. Proper insulation, good wiring practice, qualified supervision and disconnecting power before modifications remain essential.
